Our Story
Sk8scapes is an Australian-owned skatepark specialist established in 2009 by Cary Pogson and Brad Shaw, backed by hands-on skate ramp design and building experience dating back to 1978.
Cary has since returned his focus to Omni Skateboards, while Brad continues to lead Sk8scapes as Director, working with councils and government asset managers across Australia.
Our purpose is straightforward: to help councils maintain safer, more functional skateparks and make informed decisions about repairs, renewal and future investment.
Experience From the Ground Up
Sk8scapes is led by people who understand skateparks from the perspective of the designer, builder, repairer and end user.
Director Brad Shaw has been skateboarding since 1970 and designing and building ramps and skateparks from the ground up since 1978. He was the 1986 Australian Skate Out Champion and has designed, built or consulted on more than 85 skatepark projects across Australia and Asia.
Brad’s experience includes skatepark design, construction, inspections, condition reporting, repairs, maintenance, renewal planning, construction supervision and project coordination.
This practical background helps us identify not only what is damaged, but why it has happened, how it affects the use and safety of the facility, and the most practical way to address it.
An Experienced Project Team
Sk8scapes works with an experienced team of tradespeople, project personnel, fabricators and specialist subcontractors selected to suit the requirements of each project.
This flexible team structure allows us to provide the right combination of skatepark knowledge, qualified trades and project support.
Councils receive one coordinated specialist service, with clear communication from the initial site assessment through to planning, delivery and completion.
